Dev news and extra commentary
This is intended to be the last big update for the game and i will be focusing on the next title, the budget i work on is super limited so i need to keep a hard step in the creative process.
I'm going to be honest, i kind of put all of my game ideas that i had left in Mihirha's Legacy and of course my previous titles, getting around a new gameplay idea is not as easy as before.
There is of course the gamer inside of me that just wants to follow the steps of other titles that i had enjoyed, but as a developer i think one needs to push as much as possible the novelty of the industry, a very difficult task even for big videogame studios with tons of talented and amazing people. The thing i 'm able to do in my games is a mix of approachable mechanics in an unusual way with a good story to keep things original and interesting. Must admit that the lore of the game is primarily the one designing the gameplay not the other way around.
I could keep upgrading Mihirha's Legacy just because of this new creative void i am facing, like fearing to moving on but it is necessary, especially when Mihirha's Legacy has been completed, i feel like if i keep forcing the upgrading of the game it will start to go sideways in its core concept.
Commenting about my previous experiences
Intergalactic Traveler the Omega Sector allowed me a lot of upgrades due the gameplay approach towards an arcade-like labyrinthian and turn based combat until it reached also its limit; Story short, the game became so complex that i had problems keeping track of the code structure and was each time more difficult to make an update until eventually i just couldn't do more without remade all of the code in a more organized way.
If i would follow a better work schedule for my firsts projects i could have not overburned myself when the time to work on the Astrolarix appeared, it was work, work, work all the time, the year just flashed out as it i had skipped it with the respective consequences of overworking.
About the next game
The conceptual ideas had still to be tested to see if i can develop them into a full game in the time spawn i have to work, and if i'm able to make it too, i have this "reinvent the wheel" type of philosophy (i believe in the merit of doing it and discovering it by one self,) so it is kind of slow and ultra-difficult but necessary if one wants to grow as an original game developer.
So, the time to work full time on the new project has started, what i can tell is that it has to be an Adventure, i want to focus more on visuals and music than ever before but i also want cool gameplay, there is a lot of stuff to work on. Of course i will be working on this new project for more than 1 year, the idea is to have it at the end of 2024, but 3 months have been taken away already so it is kind of scary. If my games could give me enough financial support i could gladly work on longer projects, but that is a privilege that i don't have. I hope you understand, it is challenging.
Well, with that said, i thank you for reading and have nice adventures in the world of videogames.
By the way, Mihirha's Legacy has a lot of lore to analyze, hehe, it is going to be a pleasant surprise for those who "know".
